1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using PageVoice.ai ("the Service"), provided by Kodkvarteret AB, a company registered in Sweden ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.
2. Service Description
PageVoice.ai is a web-based service that converts PDFs into streamed speech using text-to-speech technology. During the shutdown grace period, the Service offers anonymous access and access for existing signed-in users subject to usage limits. New accounts and PageVoice Plus subscriptions are no longer available, and product access ends on September 13, 2026 at 00:00 Stockholm time.
Our Service allows you to:
- Upload PDF documents for text extraction
- Convert extracted text to natural-sounding audio
- Navigate and play audio content with interactive controls
- Listen to generated speech in the interactive reader
- Sign in to an existing account during its remaining access period
3. Existing Accounts
New account registration closed on August 16, 2026. An account is not required to use the remaining anonymous tier. Existing account holders:
- May sign in with the Google OAuth or email-and-password method already linked to their Firebase Authentication account
- Cannot create a new account through Google, email and password, or another method
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential
- You must promptly notify us if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
4. Purchases and Payments
PageVoice Plus Subscription
- PageVoice Plus stopped accepting new subscriptions on August 16, 2026
- Existing subscriptions have been cancelled against future renewal; paid access continues through the applicable paid period, no later than the global service end
- The Lemon Squeezy billing portal remains available for billing history, while plan changes and subscription resumption are disabled
- Unlimited listening remains subject to reasonable technical, security, availability, and acceptable-use controls
Payment Processing
- All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy (LM Square Ltd), who acts as the Merchant of Record
- PageVoice.ai does not store or have access to your full payment card details
- PageVoice stores only the customer and subscription identifiers and status needed to provide access and billing management
- Pricing or plan features may change with reasonable notice; a change does not alter a billing period that has already been paid
Refund Policy
- Refund and withdrawal requests are handled under Lemon Squeezy's applicable policies and mandatory consumer law
- Nothing in these Terms limits a statutory right of withdrawal, refund, remedy, or other consumer protection that cannot lawfully be excluded
- If a technical issue prevents you from receiving paid access, contact [email protected] so we can investigate and help coordinate a resolution
5. User Responsibilities
When using our Service, you agree to:
- Only upload PDFs you own or have permission to process
- Not upload PDFs containing illegal, harmful, or offensive content
- Respect intellectual property rights of others
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes
- Not attempt to reverse engineer or compromise our Service
- Not share your account credentials with others
6. Acceptable Use Policy
You may not use our Service to:
- Upload copyrighted material without proper authorisation
- Process PDFs containing personal information of others without consent
- Generate audio content for spam, harassment, or malicious purposes
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Interfere with or disrupt our Service or servers
- Use automated tools to access our Service excessively
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits or abuse promotions
7. Privacy and Data Handling
- We process your PDFs temporarily to provide our Service
- Uploaded PDFs are not permanently stored on our servers
- The PDF, extracted text, and document metadata can remain in IndexedDB on your device, and generated audio can remain temporarily in the browser Cache API
- If you have an existing account, Firebase stores account, usage, quota, and subscription fields needed to operate the Service
- Lemon Squeezy handles payment-card data as Merchant of Record; PageVoice stores the customer and subscription identifiers and status needed to provide access

8. Content and Intellectual Property
Your Content
- You retain ownership of all PDFs you upload
- You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to process uploaded content
- Generated audio files are considered your content
Our Service
- The PageVoice.ai service, including its design and technology, is our property
- You may not copy, modify, or redistribute our Service
- Our trademarks and logos are protected intellectual property
9. Service Availability and Limitations
Service Availability
- We strive to maintain high service availability but cannot guarantee 100% uptime
- Scheduled maintenance may temporarily interrupt service
- We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with notice
Usage Limitations
- File size limit: 16MB per PDF
- Free and signed-in free usage limits are displayed by the Service and may vary as PageVoice evaluates service cost and reliability
- PageVoice Plus unlimited listening remains subject to technical, security, availability, and acceptable-use rate limits
- Processing time depends on PDF size and complexity
- Text extraction, pronunciation, voice quality, and service availability can vary by document and provider
10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Service Disclaimers
- Our Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
- We do not guarantee the accuracy of text extraction or audio conversion
- Audio quality may vary based on source document quality
- We are not responsible for content uploaded by users
- If the Service or a paid feature is discontinued, we will provide reasonable notice where practical and respect any mandatory consumer remedies
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our Service.
11. Account Termination
We reserve the right to:
- Suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms
- Remove content that violates our policies
- Discontinue the Service with reasonable notice
Your Rights
- You may stop using our Service at any time
- You may cancel PageVoice Plus through the Lemon Squeezy billing portal; cancelling the subscription does not delete your PageVoice account
- You may separately request deletion of your PageVoice account by contacting [email protected]; if a subscription is still active, cancel it through the billing portal or ask support to help before account deletion
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will:
Continued use of our Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Notify registered users of significant changes by email
- Continue to honour previous Terms for a reasonable transition period
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available under the law of their country of residence. Disputes will be handled by the courts or consumer-resolution bodies competent under applicable law.
